If you thought humming with your eyes closed (bhraamari) was some old/new age mumbo jumbo.. Think again. There are proven physiological responses of that, that address topics ranging from health benefits to decalcification of pineal gland (produces melatonin and other good stuff) and is believed to bring relaxation enough to bring new awareness over a period of time (awakening/ ascension). It's said in many different cultures and medical science has already published several articles on that. ..time magazine did too. Some ancient cultures suggest 'Om', some suggest 'Thoh-May' and some suggest a simple 'echo' of 'mmmmm' inside your head for as long and as many times as you please. Trick for figuring out the right frequencies for you is to try it..and feel which ones echo in the center of your skull the best. Those also are the ones that trigger an irresistible yawning..that would give an indication. Try it..its fun too!! You don't need a 'guru' to try that one..(but when you are ready to dive deeper you should..until then one step at a time..)
